The old history channel television reality show star was charged with murder Monday in Alabama, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Matthew Clate McDaniel, 33, who appeared in the season 2012-2013 from Bamazon History Channel, allegedly Norman Deon Crayton killed, 40 years old, according to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department.
